Hi again!
Today was Day 2 of my QA apprenticeship journey, and it officially marked the beginning of Python week. I’ve been looking forward to this part since I joined — finally diving into some real tech!
💻 What We Did Today
Here’s a quick summary of what we covered in class:
🔹 Python Installation
We started by setting up Python on our systems. The mentor guided us step-by-step — smooth and easy!
🔹 Visual Studio Code (VS Code) Setup
Next up, we installed VS Code. It’s going to be our main editor for writing and testing Python code. I really liked the clean layout and features.
🔹 Wrote Our First Program – Hello World!
Can’t forget this moment — typing print("Hello, World!")
and seeing it work! A small line, but a big start.
🔹 Understanding Functions
We began learning about functions — both inbuilt and user-defined. It was a bit new for me, but interesting to see how they make code cleaner and reusable.
🔹 Mentor Interaction
Our mentor took time to explain the basics patiently, and we even had some fun interactions with fellow learners during the session.
🧠 What I Learned
-
How to install and set up Python and VS Code
-
The difference between inbuilt and user-defined functions
-
How to write and run basic Python code
-
How important it is to practice, even if it feels slow at the beginning
✨ My Reflection
Day 2 made me feel like I’ve really taken the first steps toward understanding code. It’s still a bit early, but I can see myself getting better with each class. The best part? I’m not learning alone — everyone in the apprenticeship is moving forward together.
Thanks for stopping by and reading! I’ll keep sharing what I learn every day, so if you're curious about QA, automation, or Python basics — stick around!
Catch you in Day 3’s post 😊
